Rare Pic of Two Headed Snake

Each head of a polycephalic animal has its own brain, and they somehow share control of the organs and limbs, though the specific structure of the connections varies. Animals often move in a disoriented and dizzy fashion, with the brains "arguing" with each other; some animals simply zig-zag without getting anywhere Snake heads may attack and even attempt to swallow each other. Thus, polycephalic animals survive poorly in the wild compared to normal monocephalic animals.

Most two-headed snakes only live for a few months, though some have been reported to live a full life and even reproduced with the offspring born normal. A two-headed black rat snake with separate throats and stomachs survived for 20 years. "We", the two-headed albino rat snake, survived in captivity for 8 years. There is some speculation that the inbreeding of snakes in captivity increases the chances of a two-headed birth.

A famous successful modern case is that of the human dicephalic twins Abigail and Brittany Hensel, born in 1990. The twins have two heads, two hearts, three lungs, and two spinal cords, and share the other organs. Each twin controls the limbs on her "side", and with coordination can walk, run, and play piano.

Emo Labs Unveils Invisible Speaker For Flat TV Screens

For 85 years, the electronics industry has learned how to make better sounding speakers and smaller speakers. Unfortunately, these generally are not available in a single, affordable package. Today’s new breed of electronics products demands natural, full-range sound that fits into a streamlined enclosure with flat panel displays. That’s where Edge Motion™ speakers come in.

Edge Motion™ — Changing the Way Speakers Make Sound

Loudspeaker technology has evolved slowly over the past 85 years. While there are now many speaker systems that are dramatically smaller in size, they often do not sound as good as their larger counterparts. And, because most speaker drivers need a large enclosure (or “box of air”) to sound good, most recent attempts to integrate speakers with today’s display-based electronics have resulted in compromised end products – either in terms of sound quality, package size, or both.

Our patented Edge Motion™ audio systems use a very different mechanical principle to generate sound. Instead of pushing from behind, like a traditional cone speaker does, Edge Motion™ speakers actuate a thin membrane along the side in a manner that creates an extremely efficient, piston-like motion in front. The resultant speaker system is thin and lightweight, yet it produces a rich, full sound across the audio range.
The Edge Motion™ Difference

Edge Motion™ audio systems produce sound in a completely new way that enables manufacturers of consumer electronics products to fully integrate high-quality stereo sound with the latest display technology. Although EMO™ loudspeakers are thin and lightweight, their sound is full and natural.

The Difference is Clear

Because optically transparent materials can be used for the radiating part of the speaker, we can make the entire speaker system invisible. This unique ability to effectively integrate a zero-footprint, high-quality audio solution with flat panel displays also unifies the source of both the video content and the stereo audio content. This “unification” of sound and image dramatically enhances the multimedia user experience.

Etisalat to launch self-branded mobile phone

Forward Today Etisalat to launch self-branded mobile phone
Telecom services provider etisalat will launch its own mass-market branded mobile phone next week, 13 years after it last released customised hardware, the company's vice-president of product marketing told Emirates Business.

"We should launch this phone within a week and it will be branded an etisalat phone," said Omar Al Muzakki, on the sidelines of the launch of the UAE's first Android phone, HTC Magic.

"This is a first for us since 1996 when we stopped doing this. From 1994 to 1996 we used to sell the handset from etisalat where it was customised and everything was ours. We are now returning to that strategy," he said.

While refusing to reveal the name of the manufacturer, Muzakki said the etisalat phone would be priced Dh300 and feature mobile broadband applications, services from its interactive portal, Weyak, and several user interface customisations.

"The phone will feature normal customisation. The hardware will have etisalat's logo. We have put some applications that belong to etisalat such as the Weyak portal. We are trying to put content inside the phone where the customer will feel the content is coming from etisalat," he said.

Muzakki said oversupply of mobile devices in the UAE and a consequent lack of consumer confidence in several products had pushed etisalat towards device customisation.

"Our priority is to satisfy our customers in terms of the trust they need from etisalat. The UAE market is open and there are millions of handsets. But when you introduce a handset branded etisalat the customer will feel confident in its after sales and the price. This is why our first offering is in a low-price bracket," he said.

Future device launches will be decided following customer response to the product but etisalat will look at multiple manufacturers and offerings. Muzzaki said etisalat will launch the next-generation iPhone 3GS after Gitex in October.
